| Service of Dedication of new Regalia |
Meeting of Thursday 1st December 2005 proved to be another landmark occasion in the history of Lodge Cadder Argyle No. 147.
Yet again the Annual Business Meeting of the Lodge was one of the busiest of the session, as Brethren from within and outwith Dunbartonshire met to witness the event to which their Lodges had been invited. The Lodge opened in due form and normal business was completed in good time. The AGM then took place with the executive office-bearers and auditor reporting on what had been another excellent year for the Lodge.
|
The Lodge was Raised to the Third Degree and a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Dunbartonshire was then admitted, headed by the Provincial Grand Master, Brother John F. Herrick. The purpose of their visit was to carry out a Service of Dedication of new Regalia. This was carried out with precision, and in his own inimitable manner, by the Provincial Senior Grand Chaplain, Brother Ian A.G. Easton, currently Senior Grand Chaplain. The Service was duly completed and the Mallet returned to the Master, Brother Mackie. Brother Herrick and his Deputation were then about to retire, but Brother Mackie had other plans. |
 |
The Director of Ceremonies conducted Brother Herrick and Brother Easton to the West where they were presented to the Lodge. The Master, Brother Mackie, paid tribute to the excellent work which had been carried out by these two Brethren on behalf of Lodge Cadder Argyle over recent years, more especially with regard to the various events which took place during the 225th anniversary celebrations. Brother Mackie then asked them to accept Honorary Membership of the Lodge which they readily accepted. |
Also invited by special request to this event were all sixteen surviving Honorary Members of the Lodge. Tribute must be paid to the calibre of Freemason so honoured by this Lodge that thirteen of the sixteen felt compelled to attend, the other three being unable to attend due to work commitments or health reasons.
