It then became apparent why there had been such a good attendance at this Meeting.
The Director of Ceremonies, Brother Robert Walker, conducted to the West and presented to the assembled Brethren Brother David Wilson Bennett, Past Master of Lodge Clydebank 1234 and Member of Grand Committee, and Brother Thomas Kerr Leckenby, Past Master of Lodge St. John Kilwinning 28, Provincial Grand Master.
The Master, Brother Campbell, then paid tribute to the zeal and commitment given by both these Brethren to Freemasonry in general and Lodge Cadder Argyle in particular, and asked them to accept Honorary Membership of the Lodge which they readily accepted.
In thanking the Lodge for this honour, Brother Leckenby remembered with pride the commitment shown by his late father, Brother William Kerr Leckenby, to this Lodge of which he also was an Honorary Member. Brother Bennett made fitting comment about his attendance as a visitor at the Lodge which has spanned over 42 years.
And so Thomas Kerr Leckenby and David Wilson Bennett, two Brethren well-regarded throughout the Scottish Craft, join a small band of elite Brethren who have gained the esteem and respect of the Brethren of Lodge Cadder Argyle.
A list of the nineteen Honorary Members of Lodge Cadder Argyle can be found here.
