The ties between The Athole Lodge No. 384 and Lodge Cadder Argyle have grown stronger over recent years with the friendship which has evolved between Brother Euan Maurice Kerr, recently Installed as Master of 384, and Brother David Seggie, Master of 147.
Both Brethren were Initiated in May 1997 and have steadily risen through the Offices together, David being the first to reach the Chair in December 2003. Euan has been a regular visitor to Cadder Argyle and has been on the toast list on several occasions, the most notable time having been asked to reply on behalf of the Visiting Brethren at the 225th Anniversary Celebration.
And so it was that when the diaries were compared and it was found that Euan’s first Meeting after having been Installed as Master of The Athole Lodge would be David’s last Meeting as Master of Cadder Argyle, it was agreed that Euan would head an unofficial deputation into the Lodge to give him a bit of practise for the coming year. What Euan did not know however was that the Brethren of Cadder Argyle had previously agreed to confer upon him the distinction of Honorary Membership of the Lodge.

The evening of Thursday 2nd December will now always be remembered as one of the busiest Annual Business Meetings ever held in the Lodge.
The Lodge opened in due form and Brother Kerr was admitted heading his Deputation which also contained Brethren from Lodges St. John Kilwinning 28, Stirling Royal Arch 76, Caledonian St. John Royal Arch 195 and Cumbernauld St. Andrew’s 199.
Normal business was completed and the Director of Ceremonies then conducted Brother Kerr to the West where he was presented to the Lodge. The look on his face painted the full picture of the shock he must have felt. The Master, Brother Seggie, then paid tribute to Brother Kerr’s short but comprehensive Masonic career to date and asked him to accept Honorary Membership of the Lodge which he readily accepted with pride.

And so Euan Maurice Kerr joins a small band of select Brethren, distinguished for their zeal in Freemasonry in general, and who have gained the respect of Lodge Cadder Argyle in particular.
