Lodge Cadder Argyle No. 147
A warm welcome to the Lodge from the Master Brother John J Mackie

On behalf of the Office-bearers and Brethren of Lodge Cadder Argyle No. 147, I welcome you to our website. Whether a Freemason or not, I hope that you enjoy your visit. I hope to ensure that this award-winning site is updated regularly, so please return regularly to view any updates. You will see that we currently have pages regarding the syllabus of Meetings, Lodge history, news and events, reports on past events and a rogues gallery of pictures on most pages. There is also a page of links to other relevant sites.

Please take the time to sign our guestbook, ask for further information, offer any suggestions or request a link.

I am delighted to have been elected and Installed for a second time as Master in this great Lodge, now approaching its 233nd year since being Chartered in 1778.

I am pleased to be able to congratulate my predecessor in office, Brother Finlay Campbell, for chairing the Lodge for yet again another successful year.

The slight drop in attendances at Regular Meetings that has been re-occurring over the last few years has finally stopped, and I hope that our attendances can grow again in the coming years. A full diary of Social events is planned for the coming session. Please keep a look out on the News and Events page for details.

My nominated charity this year is Ferrie House, Gartcosh, The Ferrie House Project is part of the Mungo Foundation (formerly the Community Social Services Department of the Archdiocese of Glasgow) offering a short stay service to adults with Learning Difficulties.

You can also read more about previous Masters’ nominated charities elsewhere on this site. Master’s Charity

As mentioned earlier, attendances at Meetings have stopped decreasing, and I hope that with a full syllabus this year we will be able to reverse this trend.

If you are a Lodge 147 Member or a potential visiting Brother, please take a look at the Syllabus and make an effort to attend. You will be made most welcome.

Once again I thank you for your interest in our website and hope that you enjoyed your visit.

Haste ye back.
John J Mackie
